The airline’s agreement to run these flights from Mesa Gateway Airport in Arizona has sparked protests\, boycotts\, and political criticism across multiple states. \nFlight attendants’ unions have also raised safety concerns regarding the transportation of detainees in restraints\, arguing that such conditions could hinder emergency responses during flights. \nAvelo’s CEO\, Andrew Levy\, defended the decision by citing financial stability and the need to maintain employment for over 1\,100 staff members.
